What makes a picture [art] interesting?

1. Familiar—we have to see something we recognize immediately or our eyes will move on to something else.

2. Color—our eyes will stop when we see color, especially if one or two of the primary colors [red, green, blue] or the secondary colors [yellow, cyan, magenta] are dominant.

3. Information—we see something new

4. Composition—the way we organize elements in the frame can stop people’s eyes
